Who We Are

The Virginia Black History Month Association (VaBHMA) is a nonprofit organization based in Fredericksburg, Virginia, dedicated to honoring and celebrating the rich history and contributions of African Americans.

For over 27 years, we have brought together thousands of community members, civic leaders, and distinguished guests for our Annual Black History Month Gala — one of the most celebrated events in the region.

Our organization is committed to education, community engagement, and preserving the legacy of African American culture for future generations.
